Funeral of
Mrs. Engle.
The funeral of Mrs. Kate Engle, who died on Thursday morning
of last week, was held at the M.E. church, of which deceased had been a member,
on Saturday morning. The sermon was preached by the pastor, Rev. J.D.
Mendenhall, and the large number of people who were present and followed the
remains to their last resting place in Highland cemetery, testified in a small
way to the high esteem in which Mrs. Engle was held by all who knew her.
A
brother L.A. Whipp, an attorney of Petersburg, Ill, was present at the funeral,
as was also Mrs. Engle's son Arthur of Toledo, Ohio. Mrs. Engle also leaves two
brothers in California, and a sister who lives at Sweet Water, Ill., and a
daughter Miss Lela of Hamilton.via [email protected]
