Ann Louise (Whaley) Gismondi, 84, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2006, with her family at her side, in Naperville II. Her enduring nature fought a courageous battle throughout a long term illness.

Ann Louise was born August 13, 1921, to Beatrice Ann (Knox) and Emmett Franklin Whaley, having been their third of seven children. She had a twin brother who died at birth. A resident of Uniontown, Pa., for most of her life, Ann Louise moved to Naperville II, in 2002, in order to be closer to her family.

She was a cheerleader for the Uniontown High School, graduating with the class of 1940.

Ann Louise was a natural dancer. Her love of dance was demonstrated by her years of dance classes and student teaching at local dance schools, a professional dance career, teaching ballroom dance and opening her own dance school in Masontown were she touched the many lives of her beloved students for 25 years.

After retiring from dance, she was employed at Neuhausen's dress shop in Uniontown, Pa. and also The Loft II in Hopwood, Pa.

She was a member of Soroptomist International for many years.

Her beloved husband of 55 years, early, preceded her in death, July 24, 1998. Also preceding her in death were her dearly loved sisters, Virginia Decker, Margaret Reed, Shirley Benning and Nancy Yacobucci and a cherished brother George Russell Whaley.

Ann Louise is survived by a family who will miss her dearly, daughter: Bea Lynn Rand (Husband Jonathan) of Sugar Grove, Illinois; three grandchildren: Justin (wife, Diane), Stefan (wife, Christi), and Lindsay all living in Chicago; two adored great-grandchildren: Aidan Christopher and Eva Grace; also a beloved sister: Helen Webb of Hampton, Virginia.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, INC. 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa., where friends may and share their memories on Friday, March 3, 2006, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and will continue on Saturday, March 4, 2006, from 10 until 11 a.m. A celebration of her life will follow at 11 a.m., in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Tabor Hills Healthcare Facility, 1347 Crystal Avenue, Naperville Illinois, 60563, or to the American Cancer Society. May her light shine long and bright.
