Barbara was born in Richmond, Indiana, to the late Ralph and Hazel (Banta) Weston, and was raised in Fairfield, Indiana. She graduated from Brookville High School in 1959. Barbara always credited her 5th, 6th, and 7th grade teacher, Mr. Bosse, for teaching her how to read and write, thus allowing her to graduate.
She was active in the square dance community and was a member of the Circle Squares. Barbara was a supporter of the Cen-Tex Parkinson’s Support Group. In addition, she was at every election day, proudly supporting her community and its citizens.
Every day was Christmas at the Hobbs House. Barbara loved finding presents for the many children she knew and baking pumpkin breads to share. She loved shopping. She was known for wearing many different watches, earrings, accessories and fun hats. Her other passions included anything Disney, and playing cards.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Haas; and brother, Richard Weston.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Arthur Hobbs; daughters, Melissa Best and husband, Harold, and Patty Brunson and husband, Clyde; grandchildren: Rhiannon Best, Erin Best, Desiree Brunson, Ginny Best, Emily Brunson, and Athena Brunson; great-granddaughter, Kenleigh Brunson; and many friends and extended family.
