The Eliasville community was thrown into a state of grief because of the death of one of our aged and beloved citizens, Mrs. Amanda Ardis. She was born on the family farm in Hopkins County, Texas. At the age of 18 years, she professed faith in Jesus and united with the Methodist church at Sulphur Springs, Texas and later in years, united with the Eliasville Methodist Church and has for the last 22 years been a faithful and devoted member of same.
Mrs. Ardis' life was one of quietness and peace. Her life was one of service. She lived for others, not giving much thought to herself. Her desire was to please her husband, care for her children and raise them to honor God, which she succeeded in doing.
Survived by her husband; six children - Lester Ardis, Mrs. Eula Parrott, Mrs. Modena Davis, Mrs. Flora McCharen, Mrs. Allye Newell, Charlie Ardis; 12 grandchildren.
