Beatrice May Wells, daughter of Walter Jerome Wells and Bertha Louise (Pease) Wells, was born 16 May 1895 in Greenfield, Massachusetts. She had four siblings: Arthur Edson Wells (born 20 August 1896 in Montague, MA), Richard Warren Wells (born 4 November 1897, Montague, MA), Ralph Brainard Wells (born 5 October 1899, South Hadley Falls, MA; died on 21 January 1900) and Lillian Ella Wells (born 2 May 1901, West Brookfield, MA).

On 10 June 1916, in Dorchester, Massachusetts, Beatrice married Willis Everett Buckman, son of Willis Johnson Buckman and Harriet "Hattie" (Wiley) Buckman. They had three known children:
1. Willis Everett Buckman Jr (born 22 January 1920 in Woburn, MA). Willis died at age 18 in Woburn on 20 July 1938.
2. Howard F. Buckman (born 2 June 1921 in Woburn). After graduating from Woburn High School, Howard attended West Point Prep School. He entered the U.S. Army on 2 June 1938, and was assigned to the Quartermaster Department. He was in one of the first of the American Expeditionary Forces to land in England, from where he was sent to Africa. At age 21, he was killed in North Africa on 28 November 1942, and at the time of his death he was a Master Sergeant. He was buried in North Africa American Cemetery in Carthage, Tunis,Tunisia.
3. Marguerite Louise Buckman.

Beatrice died on 21 September 1978, in Melrose, Massachusetts, at the age of 83 and was buried in Woodbrook Cemetery on 25 September 1978.
