OBITUARY
Dallas Powell Welker, 53, of Gilbert, AZ passed away February 8, 2007 after a brief, courageous battle with cancer. He was born October 31, 1953 in Safford, AZ where he attended school and graduated in 1971. He married Deneice Talley in 1973 and they were blessed with 5 children. Dallas was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He set a good example to his children and friends of honesty and integrity. He will be remembered for his quiet, loving disposition and how brave and courageous he was over the past few months.
Dallas is survived by his wife Deneice of 33 years; his parents Elmen Welker and Wyona Powell Welker; Brothers Randall (Joyce) Welker, Rex (Betty) Welker; Sister, Donna (Dan) McKenzie; Children, Brad (Elli) Welker, Kris Ann (Jason) Nelson, Jeff (Robin) Welker, Stacey (Clayton) Mowers, Eric Welker, and 13 beloved grandchildren. Dallas loved his family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him.
We send a special thanks to the numerous doctors and nurses that took care of Dallas these past 3 months, especially Dr. Worischeck for his special care and concern in our behalf. A visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Wednesday, February 14th at Bunkers Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa, AZ. A viewing will be held at the LDS Stake Center, 1100 N. Cooper Rd., Gilbert, AZ at 12:00pm Thursday, February 15th, followed by funeral services at 1:00pm. Graveside services will be at the Thatcher, AZ cemetery at 2:00pm Friday, February 16th.
