FOSTER, Jewel Weiler Wife of the late Lewis M. Foster, died at North Hill in Needham on December 23, at the age of 97.
She was born in 1912 in Garfield, NJ.
In 1934 she married W. Donald Boyd. They moved to Newton in 1938 where they raised their family. Their summers were spent in East Dennis on Cape Cod. W. Donald Boyd died in 1959. In 1969 she married Lewis M. Foster, who died in 2001. Jewel was a member of the First Baptist Church in Newton for over 60 years serving as a deacon and as the President of the Women's Union. She was also a corporate member of the New England Baptist Hospital and president of the Auxiliary and a volunteer for 30 years. Her son David A. Boyd predeceased her in 2002. Jewel is survived by his widow, Judith Bray Boyd on Yarmouth Port; her daughter Marcia and husband Peter Stremlau of Brooklin, ME; her daughter Roberta and husband William Powlis, of Merion, PA; seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; two stepsons, Richard and John Foster and their families. A memorial service will be held at The First Baptist Church of Newton, on April 17, at 11 AM. Eaton Funeral Home 781-444-0201
