Deceased Name: Fred Wehrly
Services for Fred K. Wehrly, 64, 8883 East 800 South, Union City, will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, Portland, with Pastor Mark Strietelmeier presiding. Burial will follow in the Salamonia Cemetery. He was a Salamonia native.
Wehrly died Wednesday in the Parkview Hospital, Ft. Wayne.
Born on March 25, 1939, to Carl and Hazel (Wallace) Wehrly in Salamonia, he married Karen Pease on June 25, 1960. She survives.
A former manager of Cromer Brothers in Portland, he owned and operated Fisher Broadway Candy Co. in Union City. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Portland, Portland Elks Club, Portland Morning Optimist Club and the Union City Chamber of Commerce.
Other survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Tracy (Terri) Williamson, Lucerne, Mrs. Ben (Kim) Williams, Richland, Wash., and Mrs. Steve (Debbie) Howell, Portland; two brothers, Tom and Jim Werhly, both of California; three sisters, Helen Kinchelow and Rose Jellison, both of California, and Carol Wehrly, Minnesota; and six grandchildren.
Visitation is Saturday from 2 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church or the Pregnancy Care Center, Portland, Morning Optimist Youth Sports Activities Fund.
