Erma Lee Bennett, 79 years of Erie, MI died Friday April 17, 2009 in the Toledo Hospital. She made her home with her loving grand daughter Danielle (Jeremy) Shropshire.
The daughter of Delos and Grace (Contell) Webster, she was born February 8, 1930 in Chicago, IL. On September 4, 1948, she married Doyle Bennett in Toledo. He preceded her in death August 30, 1980. She also was preceded in death by a son Glenn, December 4, 2005, a brother, and a sister.
A loving mother and grandmother, Erma "Nana Kermit" was known for her great collection of frogs. She enjoyed crocheting and had a great sense of humor. She was a member of the Sherman Osborne Post #192 American Legion Auxiliary where she served as Past-President and St. Luke's Lutheran Church.
Erma is survived by her loving daughters, Wendy (Gary) Archer of Birmingham, AL, Linda Kinney of Temperance, MI, Tommie Kruse of Erie, MI, Sheila ("Pete" Anastacio) Abalos of Erie, brother, Delos Webster of Temperance, sister, Doris Galdeen of Temperance, 13 dear grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Dr. Frank Paine pastor of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Temperance. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park LaSalle, MI.
