DAKOTA CITY - Charlene Rae Weber, 60, of Dakota City died Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999, at her residence.


Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Dakota City United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mike Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Dakota City Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church, with a prayer sevice at 7 p.m.. Becker-Hunt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Weber was born Feb. 12, 1939, in South Sioux City, the daughter of Edward L. and Margaret A. (Leedom) Wingett. She graduated from Dakota City High School and attended St. Vincent School of Nursing.

She married Larry Gene Weber on Aug. 20, 1958, in Dakota City. He died Feb. 15, 1988, in Sioux City.

She was employed at Child Protective Service with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services for 37 years.

She was a member of the Dakota City United Methodist Church, the National Kidney Foundation, the American Cystinosis Association and the Dakota City Birthday Club.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Larry Jr. and Rhonda of South Sioux City; a daughter, Peggy Sue Durand of Omaha; a step-sister, Karen L. DeRoin of Pasadena, Texas; a granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Weber; two grandsons: Brian James Bossow, and Adam Charles Ball; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two step-brothers: Clarence and Tilden Goodsell.

Pallbearers will be Tim Schnee, Todd Reckling, Gene Curry, Chet and Don Leedom and Vince Kavanaugh.

Memorials may be directed to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Cystinosis Association.
