He was born in LaPrairie Township (rural Sparland) on May 28, 1923, a son of the late Robert C. and Mary Leota (McCullough) Webber. He married Barbara J. Mattison on March 20, 1955, in Peoria, Ill. She survives.
Also surviving are a son, John (Paula) Webber and their children, David and Matthew, all of rural Sparland, Ill.; two daughters, Carole (Alan) Willadsen and their children, Benjamin, Samuel and Hannah, all of Peoria, Ill., and Janet Smolinski and her children, Robert, Andrea and Lauren, all of Orland Park, Ill.; and one sister, Mrs. William (Margaret) Harbert of California.
He was preceded in death by three sisters.
Robert was a stock and grain farmer in LaPrairie Township most of his life.
He was a member of Marshall-Putnam Farm Bureau and the LaPrairie United Presbyterian Church, rural Sparland, where he was an elder.
Services will be held at his church on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007, at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior. The Rev. Nollan Harwood Jr. will officiate. A visitation will also be held at Lenz Memorial Home, Lacon, Ill., on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, from 5 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in LaPrairie United Presbyterian Cemetery.
