SPRINGFIELD - Esther R. Blank, 96, of Springfield died at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, at St. John's Hospice.

She was born Aug. 28, 1911, in Prentice, the daughter of Carl and Veda Weakley. She married Dwight W. Blank on Feb. 11, 1931. They were married for 74 years, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Weakley. One son was born to them and he survives (living 2023).

Mrs. Blank, a resident of Springfield since February 1931, retired as a real estate broker in 1973. She was a graduate of Ashland High School class of 1930. She was a member of Laurel United Methodist Church for more than 50 years and was a lifetime member of Springfield Ceramic and Craft Club.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services at noon Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, at Staab Funeral Home with Dr. John Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery in Ashland.

Memorial contributions may be made to Laurel United Methodist Church.
