Josephine Jody Shields, 72, passed away Friday, May 18, 2012. Jody was born January 27, 1940 in Ogden, Utah.
On January 12, 1961 Jody and Glenn Shields were united in marriage. He survives.
She was a life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she held many positions and served three missions. Jody was a passionate quilter and made many quilts.
Other survivors include their children, Sherri (Nathan) Thompson, AL; Ronald (Erica) Shields, CO; Vicki (Greg) Whitaker, KS; Roger (Latisha) Shields, FL; 18 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; brother, Dwayne Slim Wayment; and sisters, Marcene Montgomery and Donna Liljinquist.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Franklin Wayment.
Family will greet friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Sun. at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Mon, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 3611 SW Jewell.
