Margaret Elsie (Dottie) Maine, daughter of Ples and Angie Watts was born in Vermillion, Kansas on July 17, 1907. She departed from this life at Prairie Vista Nursing Home in Holyoke on June 8, 1988 at the age of 80.
She spent her childhood in Nebraska and received her education there. On December 15, 1926, she was united in marriage to Lester Maine. They moved to Venango, Nebraska in 1938 and began farming and later moved to a farm in the Paoli community. In 1955, they moved to Denver where they made their home until the loss of her husband, at which time she then returned to Holyoke.
She was devoted to her family and friends, while keeping herself busy with her many hobbies, crafts and community activities. She was an active member of the Christian Church in Holyoke since September 20, 1981 and leaves behind many dear brothers and sisters in Christ.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Lester; her parents; step-mother; three brothers; three sisters; one grandson, Ronnie Fisbeck; and one great granddaughter, Stacy Clark.
She is survived by one son Gene Maine and wife Vona of Holyoke; three daughters Bonnie Biesemeier and husband Quentin of Haxtun, Elsie Fisbeck and husband Leo of Paoli and Onna Eckman Fisbeck of Boulder; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; three brothers; one sister and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held Saturday, June 11, 1988 at the Christian Church, with interment at the Holyoke Memorial Park.
Thompson Mortuary of Holyoke was in charge of arrangements.
