Elaine was born Jan 28, 1921 to James Leonard and Grace Mc-Neil Watson in Salt Lake City, UT. She was the second of five children and grew up in the East Millcreek area,
graduating from Granite High School. Elaine served a mission for the LDS Church to the New England States in 1946-1947. She cherished her mission experience and spoke of it often.
Elaine married Raphael (Ray) Moss May 28, 1953 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, becoming a mother at the same time to Ray's five children. She and Ray had four additional children.
In addition to raising nine children, she worked for many years as the library secretary at Olympus High School, where she enjoyed the association of the faculty and students. Elaine was a dedicated member of the LDS Church and served in many capacities, including serving in the Salt Lake Temple.
She was an avid gardener and genealogist, but the thing she loved most was spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; children, Ronald, Tony, Craig, and his wife Peggy; parents; sister, Marion Redmond; brothers, Richard Watson, James Watson; one grandson; and one great-grandson.
