From the Athens Review February 17, 1927
Mrs. Liner Bristow Watson was born July 21, 1908, and died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Bristow, Fincastle, Texas, February 6, 1927, at 9 o'clock a.m., and was buried in the same casket with her little babe who died at 4 0'clock p.m. Both were buried at 12 o'clock, noon, Monday February 7 at the Poynor cemetery , surrounded by a host of sorrowing relatives and friends.
Liner was a sweet Christian girl, eighteen years of age. A member of the Methodist church, which she joined at the age of ten years. She leaves a young husband, mother and father, three brothers and three sisters to mourn her passing to the great beyond, besides a host of other relatives and friends. She was married to Claude Watson of Henderson, Rusk county Texas, December 26, 1925. Just a little over thirteen months was he permitted to grace his home and gladden his heart, when the master called her and her sweet little babe to our Father's house of many mansions that the Saviour went to prepare, that where he was, she might be also. How sweet to know that she who was a Christian is not dead, but sweetly sleeping till Jesus calls "Come".
Bro's. Birchfield and Hall conducted the funeral services, which were very impressive and beautiful and she was laid to rest covered by the beautiful flowers she loved.
Liner was beloved by all who knew her, her sweet, sunny smiles will be sadly missed by the host of friends as well as the sorrowing loved ones she leaves behind.
Her smiling eyes are closed in slumber,
Her dear sweet face we'll see no more,
Till Jesus says "Awake, thou sleeper",
Then we shall meet on yon bright shore,
But hush! Methinks I hear her whisper,
"Husband, loved ones, do not weep,
I'm not dead, but only resting,
With the angels, just asleep."
