THOMAS G. WATKINS
The beloved Thomas Garland Watkins, 91, of the Evergreens, went home to be with the Lord, Aug. 1, 1996.

Thomas will have a graveside service 11 a.m. Saturday at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Thomas was a member of Carraway United Methodist Church, a very active member of the Knights of Phythiens, Senior Citizen of the month February, 1977, President of Evergreens Resident Council and an active volunteer and participant in most activities at Evergreens. He was retired from Cone Mills, where he had been a machinist.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vallie M. Watkins. He is survived by daughters, Polly Lincoln of Winston-Salem, Ila Ellington of Greensboro, Martha Blanchard of Siler City; sons, Joe 'Buddy' Watkins of Greensboro, Lucion 'Lou' Watkins of Belton, Texas, Harvey Watkins of Winston-Salem; 22 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Thomas's grandchildren are honored to be Pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the home of daughter, Ila Ellington, 4114 Pheasant Run Dr., Greensboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in the name of Thomas G. Watkins, The Evergreens Inc., 4007 W. Wendover Ave., Greensboro, N.C. 27407.

Hanes-Lineberry North Elm Chapel is serving the family.
