Mr. Wathan was born October 29, 1943, in Clay County, the son of Tiny Christopher and Mamie Marie Stoops Wathan. He married Connie Ragsdale in Xenia.
He was a retired railroad conductor, a member of Charity Masonic Lodge #30 of Washington, IN, Scottish Rite N.M.J. and Hadi Shrine Temple.
Survivors include three children, Eva Hubble, Holly Wathan Green, and Daniel Wathan; three brothers, Gene, Jack and Harold Wathan; and three grandchidlren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Funeral services were held at Frank and Bright Funeral Hom ein Flora with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Xenia.
