Fern M. (Warehime) Carter, 91, of Choteau, a homemaker, died of natural causes at a Choteau nursing home.

Survivors include her daughter, Hazel Carroll of Helena; grandson, Dennis Carroll and wife, Wende, of Augusta; grandson, Brian Carroll and wife, Kris, of Townsend and their children, Jennie, Jackie and Jake; grandson, Mike Carroll and wife, Sandy, of Helena, and their children, Dillon, Drew and Sean; granddaughter, Lori Jacke of Helena, and her son, Colton; as well as three great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Harold Warehime and his wife, Ramona, of Stanford; sisters-in-law, Helen Warehime of Cascade, Jane Warehime of Great Falls, and Hilda Warehime of Puyallup, Wash.

In addition to her husband, Charlie, and her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, William; sister, Dorothy Flanagan Matz; and brothers, Glen Warehime, Lester Warehime, Carl Warehime and John Warehime.

Fern was born April 23, 1916, near Fort Benton to Christopher and Blanche (Low) Warehime. She attended school in Cascade and Great Falls.

She married Charles Carter in 1938 in Choteau. They lived in Great Falls until 1992 when they moved to Helena to be closer to family members. Charlie passed away in March, 1993. In 2004, Fern moved to the Teton Medical Center Nursing Home in Choteau, where she received compassionate and loving care.

Cremation has taken place.
