Wife of G.T. Hartsell

Inscription reads: Asleep in Jesus blessed sleep. From which none ever wake to weep.

Bio:
Mary T. Wardlaw was the third child of Samuel McCully Wardlaw and Jane Austin. Mary was born in Gwinnett County, Georgia, and relocated with her family, first to Harris County (ca.1837) and then to Itawamba County, Mississippi in about 1843.

She married George T. Hartsell on 20 October 1857 in Itawamba County. George served with the 43rd Miss Vols, Co G. during the Civil War. Mary & George can be found on the 1870 Census in Itawamba, but then disappear. It is possible that George is also in this cemetery but is unmarked.

Mary's sister Margaret Ann (Wardlaw) Jones and her husband Joseph A. Jones are also in White Church Cemetery. Sister Martha E. Burdine and husband James C. Burdine are in Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana. It is probable they all moved to Navarro County at about the same time.

If anyone has any further information on Mary or George, or locates an obituary for her, I would appreciate the help.
