Mrs. Mary Astlin James, 78, Bethesda, died Thursday, Jan. 6, at Suburban Hospital, Bethesda. She was the wife of the late James N. James.
Born in Ireland, Mrs. James was a daughter of the late Thomas and Nora McGrath Walsh.
Surviving Mrs. James are one daughter, Mary P. Spindle, Germantown; three sons, James W. Astlin of Bladensburg, Robert M. Astlin of Hyattsville and Thomas H. Astlin, Mechanicsville; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 12 noon– 9 p.m., Friday, Jan. 7, at the Hilton Funeral Home, Barnesville, where the family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.
