AMY BAKER
Amy Baker, 77, of Menlow died Sunday, June 15, at a Waco hospital. She was born June 17, 1925 in Blum in Hill County, daughter of the late Calvin Earl and Iona Stark Waller, and had lived in the county most of her life. She was a resident of Peoria before moving to the Menlow area in 1978. She married John Wornell Baker August 8, 1940 in Cleburne, and he preceded her in death August 11, 1991. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Homer Waller and Fred Waller; and three sisters, Bell Baker, Minnie Lou Waller and Willie Mae Waller. Survivors include: two sons, John W. Baker, Jr. and wife, Loretta of Weatherford and Dennis L. Baker and wife, Betty A., of Menlow; two brothers, Claude M. Waller of Peoria and Larry Waller of San Diego, California; two sisters, Viola F. Drew Arnett of Crockett and Linda Carol Whalen of California; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro with Dr. Bruce Austin officiating.
