The graduating class of the Davis high school is this year composed of eleven girls and three boys, viz; Blanche French, Beatrice Greer, Gladys Hutchins, Ruth Kennedy, Lucile Parker, Elizabeth Pattison, Carolyn Pullen, Vera Raines, Laura Turner, Clifford Walkup and Addie Belle Ware, Wallace Dinsmore, Richard Morton and Kirk Henington.

Longtime Davis
businesswoman buried


Mrs. Clifford Drake, a Davis business woman for more than 60 years, died March 26 at her home. She was born in Davis Nov. 22, 1899 and lived in Davis all of her life.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 28, at First Christian Church, where she was a member. Rev. Gordon Oglesby, pastor, and Rev. Dennis Jones, minister of First United Methodist Church, officiated. Interment was in Green Hill Cemetery under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.

At the time of her death, Mrs. Drake was a partner in Drake Farms with her sons, Bob and Tom. At one time she was active in Drake Motor Co., and a coffee shop with her late husband, Herbert. Before her marriage to Herbert on Jan. 19, 1933, Mrs. Drake was employed at First National Bank.

Mrs. Drake served as secretary and treasurer of First Christian Church for 60 years. She was also a member of Davis Business and Professional Women's Club, Tuesday Study Club, Twentieth Century Club and Christian Women's Fellowship. She was active in all her organization until a few weeks before her death.

Survivors are her two sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Kay Drake and Tom and Judi Drake, all of Davis; six grandchildren, Stacey, Paige, Ashley, Whitney and Joe and Nancy Drake; and two great grandchildren, Tabbetha and Heath Drake.

She was preceded in death by her husband on July 14, 1964.

Pallbearers were Foster Thomas, Skip Healey, Jerry Pullen, Sherman Raper, David Webb, all of Davis, and Thurman Thomas, Plainview, TX.
