Leona, 78, of Lake Odessa, MI. passed away at her home early Friday morning. Leona was born to John and Mary (Collins) Waldren. She attended Lake Odessa schools. Leona was married to Henry Curtis and together they had five children; Randy, John, Duane, Bradley, and Mary. Leona married John Caylor in 1973; he preceded her in death in 1978. She later married Abe Bussema in 1980 and he preceded her in death in 1996. Leona enjoyed storytelling and making people laugh. She always had a joke to tell. She loved to cook, read and be around people. Leona loved to write letters, and was constantly sending out cards and letters to loved ones. Surviving Leona, are her children, John Curtis of Lake Odessa, Bradley (Sally) Curtis of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Mary (David) Fry of Lake Odessa; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Vada Bailey of Ozona, Texas and Ellen Miller of Lowell; and brother, Douglas Waldren of Lansing. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; sons, Randy Curtis and Duane "Duke" Curtis; grandsons, Adam Fry and Joshua Curtis; sisters, Vivian Kimmel, Lillian Hurburt, and Wreatha Cooper; and brother, Lyle Waldren. Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa was in charge of the arrangements. The funeral and committal services will be held on Tuesday, January 5. The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to Barry Community Hospice
