DELIA H. CANRIGHT
Sad and Sudden Death
The beloved wife of JOHN E. CANRIGHT died at 4 o'clock
yesterday morning. In the early hours she complained of not
feeling well, and getting out of bed sat in a rocking chair where
she said she felt much easier. MR. CANRIGHT got up to minister to
his wife's wants but she said she was feeling better and at her
urgent request he went back to bed. Shortly after he arose and went
to his wife's side, when to his horror he found that her spirit had
fled and that one of the truest and noblest wives and mothers ever
lived was no more of this earth.
Deceased had been in her usual good health of late and the
cause of her death was doubtless heart failure.
MRS. CANRIGHT was one of the pioneer women of Martin County.
She has reared a large family of children has ever been a devout
Christian and came as near living a perfect life as it is possible
for human being to attain.
MRS. CANRIGHT was 63 years old. The funeral services will
probably not be held before Sunday, as there are three brothers,
four sons and three daughters-some of them in the remote parts of
the county-who are to be notified and given an opportunity to
MARTIN COUNTY SENTINEL, JAN 19, 1900.
