Edwin "Sparky" Wahlen, 70, of Milwaukee, a former St. Kilian resident, died early today at Mount Sinai Hospital, Milwaukee.
He was born Aug. 4, 1902, at St. Kilian, a son of Henry and Theresa Kral Wahlen. He never married.
Mr. Wahlen was retired and was formerly employed by Schlitz Brewing Vo., Milwaukee, for 25 years. He was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church, Milwaukee, and the 49ers Club of Milwaukee.
Survivors include a brother, Harry of Milwaukee and five sisters, Mrs. George Bernard of Crystal River, Fla., Mrs. Fred Baumann of Thiensville, Mrs. Celia Buerger and Mrs. Kenneth Schultz both of Milwaukee and Mrs. Frank Kershaw of Port Richey, Fla. A brother, Oscar preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at 9:50 a.m. Friday at Miller's Funeral Home Kewaskum and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Kilian Catholic Church at St. Kilian. The Rev. Adrian Trost will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
