Table Rock Argus, Nov. 21, 1974.

Gladys Lucille Sandusky was born February 27, 1901 at Grafton, Illinois to George and Minerva Wadlow. She spent a happy busy childhood in that area completing her formal education at Grafton, Ill.

At an early age she learned the arts of music and sewing as well as helping care for her three brothers.

Gladys moved to Table Rock, Nebraska, with her parents and brothers in 1919. Shortly thereafter she was employed as a nurse at Dr. McCrea's hospital in Table Rock.

August 17, 1921 she was united in marriage to Vernon Sandusky. To this union three children were born. Gladys was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Indeed practical Christianity was her way of life, being a doer of the Word and not a hearer only. She was a beautiful homemaker, a most helpful neighbor and true friend.

She was a member of the Methodist Church of Table Rock, and was active in the Lydia Circle. She was also active in Red Cross, Eastern Star and other organizations.

Surely, Heaven's gain is our loss.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and one brother. Surviving are her children, Mrs. James (Dolores) Ireland of Hawthorne, Calif.; Janice Sandusky of Wilmington Calif.; and Roger Sandusky of Pawnee City, Nebr. Brothers, F. L. (Jack) Wadlow, and Clayton Wadlow; Son-in-law the Rev. James A. Ireland and daughter-in-law, Lorraine Sandusky. Seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Many other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, November 14, 1974, at 2:00 P.M. at the United Methodist Church in Table Rock with Rev. Lloyd Fonken officiating.

Mrs. Byford Metzger and Mrs. John Wherry sang "In The Garden", and "Going Home", accompanied by Mrs. George Tomek on the organ.

Pallbearers were Willard Binder, Robert Workman, Lloyd Vrtiska, Floyd Vrtiska, Charles Hall and Joseph Sochor.

Interment was in the Table Rock cemetery.
