Carl D. Wagner, 56, former county resident, who has been living at
Hastings, Neb., the past four years died this morning at the Holy
Family hospital. He suffered a stroke at Hastings a month ago and
was brought to this city for treatment.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First
Reformed church, the Rev. A.C. Fischer officiating. Burial will be
in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. Wagner was born in Eaton in 1888 and in 1915 married Miss Charlotte
Golding at Cincinnati, Ohio. They located at Pontiac, Mich., and four
years ago moved to Hastings, where Mr. Wagner was an erecting engineer
for the Maxon Construction company.
Survivors are his wife; daughter, Mrs. Owen Kinney of Hastings; son,
Carl Jr. with the armed forces in Germany; five brothers, Edward, Lewis,
William and Frank of this city, Ernest of Alaska, Kewaunee county; three
sisters, Mrs. John Ludwig, Mrs. Bertram Peters and Lydia of this city;
and a grandchild.
The body may be viewed at the Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei funeral home
from Tuesday noon until 10 a.m. Wednesday when it will be moved to the
church to lie in state until the hour of the services.
