Caroline Catherine Von Ruden, the daughter of Lawrence and Hildegarde (Rech) Von Ruden, was born on October 16, 1940 in Faribault, MN. She attended Faribault High School and graduated with the class of 1958. Following high school Caroline attended Beautician School. On May 13, 1961 she was united in marriage to Raymond Sammon at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Faribault. As their children were growing up, she opened up her own beauty shop in 1971 in their home, Caroline’s Beauty Shop. She made many lifelong friends while doing what she loved while opening her home to styling hair.
Throughout her life she enjoyed playing cards with family, friends and her “card club”. She loved taking the grandkids to the Nature Center for walks and was always their biggest cheerleader at their different activities.
In her younger years at Jewitt’s Point and later at family weddings, you could always find Caroline and Ray out on the dance floor having a great time. She was known to light up a room with her smile and giggle. Caroline enjoyed spending time with all of her family and also enjoyed camping, gardening and baking.
