It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend, Eva Villa Alvarez, age 83, of Las Cruces on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center surrounded by her family. Eva was born Feb. 19, 1930, in Murrieta, CA, to Miguel F. and Eusebia Montano Villa.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church.

Those left to mourn her passing include one son, Kenny; four daughters, Esmeralda "Esmi", Yolanda "Yoli", Lorena, and Bayola, all of Las Cruces; one brother, Benjamin and wife, Licha, of Mexico, and a sister, Marcelina of Colorado. Other survivors include 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Rene Alvarez in 2006; numerous brothers and sisters, a granddaughter, a grandson and her son-in-law, Prisciliano "Presci" Trujillo.

Funeral Services were held at Baca's Chapel of Prayer. Concluding services Interment followed in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, where she was laid to rest in the family plot. Serving as casket bearers were Kevin Oliver, Gabriel and Richard Trujillo, Samantha Woodward, Randy Cole, Derek Sanchez and Kenny James Luna. Honorary bearers were John David Castillo, Vicente Charles Medina and Adrian Alvarez.

The Alvarez Family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels of Las Cruces.
