BLANFORD, CATHERINE VESSELS "CATHY," 48, of Louisville, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Emma (Hayes) Vessels; her brothers, Billy Wells and Charlie Vessels; and sister, Annie Lang. Survivors include her husband of 25 years, John Blanford; her children, Charles "Chuck" Vessels (Stacey Smith), John D. "Big Boy" Blanford and Thomas R. "Bit" Blanford; granddaughters, Savannah, Taylor, Emma, Charleigh and Sandy; brothers, Jimbo and Jerry Wells and Joe Vessels Jr.; sisters, Alice Henon, Madonna (Vessels) Wells and Georgie Brown; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. 9 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday.
