Obituary
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Melancon Funeral Home Opelousas Chapel for Lillian "Noon" Arceneaux, age 80, the former Lillian Venable, who died Saturday, October 14, 2006 at 1:15 p.m. at Doctor's Hospital in Opelousas.
Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas. The Rev. Angelo Cremaldi, pastor of Our Lady Queen of Angels Roman Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.

Musical selections will be provided by Ron Moreau, accompanied by Phyllis Simar on the organ. The songs will be Go Rest High on that Mountain, and Wind Beneath my Wings.

Ms. Arceneaux was a native of Church Point and had been a resident of Lafayette since 1980. She was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church.

Survivors include four sons, Ernest Louis Arceneaux of Lafayette, Linton Louis Arceneaux, Jr. and his wife, Sandy, of Houston, James Percy Arceneaux and his wife, Linda, of Church Point, and Joseph Ronald Arceneaux of Lafayette; one daughter, Evelyn Ann Daigle and her husband, Randy, of Alvin, Texas; four grandchildren, Paul Randy Daigle, II, Dawn Elizabeth Arceneaux, Jon Pierre Arceneaux, and Tommie Lewis Arceneaux; one step grandchild, Alex Melton Arceneaux; one great grandchild; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Linton Arceneaux, Sr.; parents, Sidney Venable and the former Elise Martin; three brothers, Clifton, Robert and Gerald Venable; and by one sister, Delores Venable Leger.

Melancon Funeral Home of Opelousas, 4708 I-49 North Service Road was in charge of arrangements.
