Mildred was a homemaker, and was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, traveling, and sharing riddles with her grandchildren.
She is survived by three sons: Gary Burlbaw and wife Polly of Plano, Texas, John Burlbaw and wife Beverly of Taos, Tom Burlbaw and wife Jeanette of Leawood, Kansas; 8 grandchildren: Joe Burlbaw and wife Tammy of Taos, Julie Adrian and husband Doug of Jefferson City, Zeke Burlbaw of Leawood, Kansas, Maggie Burlbaw of Leawood, Kansas, Cathy Stewart and husband Ed of Carrollton, Texas, Carl Burlbaw and wife Hillary of Carrollton, Texas, Curt Burlbaw and wife Emily of Allen, Texas, Carolyn Burlbaw of Carrollton, Texas; and nine great grandchildren. She was known as "Aunt Skinny" to her numerous nieces and nephews.
Mildred was also preceded in death by one brother, Jack Vansickle; one sister, Lorene Birch; one nephew, Harold Lee Hurtz; and one daughter-in-law, Helen Seeker Burlbaw.
Friends will be received from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2007 at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with Fr. Joseph L. Shetler officiating. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
