Rosella "Marie" VanHorn Bowyer, 88, of Lafayette, died at 1 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, at Rosewalk Village.
She was born Jan. 24, 1923 in Green Hill to the late Joseph M. and Clara E. Watkins VanHorn. She married James Edward on July 3, 1942 in Lafayette. He preceded her in death on May 28, 2010. She was also preceded in death by 1 son, Dennis; 1 brother; 2 sisters and 5 in-laws.
Surviving are three sons, J. Joe Bowyer (wife: Jan) of Mulberry, Richard Bowyer (wife: Donna) of Mount Washington, Ky. and Donald Bowyer (wife: Julie) of Escondido, California; six sisters; Ileta Davis (husband: Grant) of Lafayette, Dorothy "Dot" Johnson of Sarasota, Florida, Joan McGlothlin of Avon, Florida, Jane Story (husband: Gary) of Bakersfield, California, Betty Marsch (husband: Paul) of Lafayette and Mary Gamble (husband: Ron) of Romney; two brothers, Joe VanHorn, Jr. of Marion, Illinois and Richard VanHorn (wife: Paula) of Otterbein; 9 grandchildren, Kathy, Karol, Karie, Rich, Dot, Jennifer, Kendra, Brian and Kayla; 14 great-grandchildren, David, Raze, Tait, Caitlyn, Chasity, Stewart, Hanna, Trent, Tanner, Trey, Bailey, Zoie, Jaiden and Kaliyah and one great-great-granddaughter, Ellie.
