Louretta VanBuskirk Albertson.

Louretta Van Buskirk was born in Tuscawaras county, Ohio, on Dec 4, 1862, and died at her home near Fremont, la., July 25, 1910, aged 47 years 7 months and 21 days.

The funeral cortege left the house at nine o'clock Wednesday morning July 27, arriving at Kirkville M. E. church at 10 o'clock, where the funeral services were held, being conducted by Rev. Geo. Filmer of Fremont, assisted by Rev. J. S. Decker of the Kirkville M. E. church. Interment was made in the Kirkville cemetery.

The deceased came to Iowa with her parents in the spring of 1864 and settled on a farm south of Fremont where she lived until she was united in marriage to J.C. Albertson, which occurred February 17, 1886, when they moved to their own farm, two and one-half miles south of Fremont, where she resided until her death. She leaves to mourn their loss her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. L. Van Buskirk, a husband, three children, Linford. Harley and Ethel, and two brothers, C. B. Van Buskirk, of Eldon, la., and W. A. Van Buskirk of south of Fremont, besides hosts of friends and relatives.

She has always proved a devoted wife and mother, a dutiful daughter and a faithful friend. Some five weeks ago Mrs. Albertson was In the yard hunting for hens' nests in a bed of mint. A broken pane of glass had been thrown in the bed of mint when the ground was soft and stood in a perpendicular position and in stepping she struck the glass which penetrated the fleshy part of the right limb below the knee to a depth of four or five inches. A doctor was summoned within an hour after accident and found that a vein had been severed. He cared for the wound and the infection from it was only local. A trained nurse was secured who was with her at the time of her death. She was recovering rapidly from the cut and was able to sit up and was getting along as well as anyone could have expected, was jovial and looked forward to the end of the week when she would be able to walk about. Monday she complained about a pain in the region of her heart and a doctor was immediately summoned but she expired before he arrived. The cause of her death was embolus — a blood clot in the heart. All was done that human hands could do but it was the Master's will that she be now called. The family have the sympathy of all.
