Anna Ottilie Neumann, daughter of Gottfrey and Albertina Neumann, was born May 24, 1871 and departed this life on August 16, 1948, at the age of 77 Years, two months and 23 days, at her home in Sigourney.

In early childhood she lived with her parents in Van Buren township until her marriage to Sam Utterback on December 24, 1900. As a girl she was brought up in her parents' faith in the Lutheran Church and was confirmed April 3, 1887.

There was one child born to this union, a daughter, Beulah Lucile, who passed away September 10, 1913. After their marriage, she and her husband lived in Sigourney.

In 1911, she united with the Sigourney Christian church and was a faithful member until she was called to her heavenly home.

Remaining to mourn, besides her husband, are a brother, Ernest Neumann of Sigourney and several nieces and nephews, Amanda Wolfe and Lizzie Kohler of Cheney, Kansas; Ernest and Leonard Kitzman of Sigourney; Flossie and Elsie Neumann of What Cheer; Albert Neumann
of Cedar Rapids. Anna Clar of Washington and Gertrude Oerbel of Keokuk.

She was a loving wife and companion, congenial in disposition and a good neighbor. Every loving care humanly possible was given to her in her last illness.

The funeral service was held at the Sigourney Christian Church on August 18, 1948, conducted by the Rev. W. H. Cross. Interment was made in West cemetery. Pallbearers were Carlos Van Fleet, Robert Van Fleet, Tom Utterback, Verde Utterback, Roy Macintosh and J. Y.
Parkhill. Music was by Mrs. Claude Bottorff and Robert Utterback.
