Kate Van Dyke
Mrs. Kate Underwood Van Dyke, 88, of 850 21st St., died last night at her home of natural causes.
Mrs. Van Dyke had operated a grocery store for the past 45 years. She formerly taught school in Ogden.
She was president of the Primary and taught Sunday School in the old LDS Fourth Ward.
She was born Nov. 21, 1865, in England, a daughter of William and Sarah Ann Stanford Underwood. She and her mother and sister came to Ogden in 1883.
Her husband, Don Carlos Van Dyke, died 53 years ago.
Surviving are three sons and one daughter: Don C., Robert W. and Arthur N. VanDyke and Miss Kate VanDyke, Ogden; eight grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. in the Larkin Mortuary, 24th Street and Adams Avenue, Bishop Wilford Harris of the LDS Thirty-first Ward officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary tomorrow from 6 to 9 p.m. and Friday until services. Interment will be in Ogden City cemetery.
