Erminda Ulibarri, the daughter of Eleuterio Ulibarri and Epimenia (Garcia) Ulibarri, was born on Aug. 7, 1921, in Chama, N.M.
Erminda's marriage to Andy Enriquez ended in divorce. She then married Leslie Baker who preceded her in death. Erminda raised eight children.
She lived in Silverton before making her home in Montrose where she remained until the time of her death.
Erminda was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Montrose and belonged to the Friends of the Library.
Erminda loved and treasured her family and spending time with them and greatly enjoyed reading. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving family members who had the honor of sharing Erminda's life include one son, Edward Enriquez, of Victorville, Calif.; and six daughters: Eliza Smith, of Denver; Vivian and husband Elicio Lovato, of Montrose; Mindy and husband Jim Heard, of Salt Lake City, Utah; Elizabeth and husband Johnny Archuleta, of Nevada; Sandra and husband Gasper Archuleta, of Denver; and Veronica and husband Doug Jolley, of Salt Lake City, Utah.
Erminda was the proud and loving grandmother of 19 wonderful grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Other family survivors include three brothers: Steve Ulibarri, of Montrose; Lee Ulibarri; Eleuterio Ulibarri; and one sister, Ellen Rocha, all of Salt Lake City, Utah.
Erminda was preceded in death by both of her parents; one daughter, Epi Abachiche, who died in 1970; four brothers; and one sister.
Visitation for family and friends is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 8, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and will include a Vigil Service for the deceased at the Montrose Valley Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Mass in loving remembrace and to honor Erminda's life will be officiated by Monsignor Dan Huber on Thursday, Aug. 9, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Montrose.
Rite of Committal will follow the Mass in Cedar Cemetery, with arrangements being handled under the direction of Montrose Valley Funeral Home.
