ST. ELMO — Wanda E. Bogenpohl, 80, of St. Elmo, formerly of Lenzburg, Ill., and Lake Wales, Fla., died at 4:03 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville. Visitation will be for one hour at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Kessel Funeral Home, St. Elmo. Memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital, St. Louis. Online Condolences may be left at www.KesselFH.com.

Wanda was born on Aug. 24, 1930, in Vandalia, the daughter of Louwis F. and Mabel L. (Emerick) Ulbricht. She married Norman G. Bogenpohl "Bogie" on Dec. 17, 1966, and he preceded her in death.

She retired in 1985 from Schneider General Heating and Cooling in Red Bud, where she was employed as a tester. She enjoyed embroidery, playing Bingo and spending time with her grandchildren and she believed in strong family ties. She practiced the Protestant faith and attended the Baptist church in Lake Wales, Fla.

She is survived by her son, Robert (wife, Barbara) Cox Sr.; two grandsons, Bobby (fiance, Ashley Marti) Cox Jr. and Brian (Jen) Cox, three great-grandchildren, Dakota, Brooke and Lane Cox, all of St. Elmo; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Lila Jennings; brother, Wayne Ulbricht; and nieces and nephews.
