Thomas Bell Twyman was born 1813 near Tonieville, Ky. On 1 April 1834 he married Belinda Brown Read. They had 6 children before he died on 19 August 1845. He was buried in the Read Family Cemetery at Tonieville. Belinda married again to Ansel Smith on 22 Feb 1848. 3 additional children were born to that union.

HIS TOMBSTONE HAS GONE MISSING

The headstone for Thomas Bell Twyman was lying on the ground as shown in the photograph taken 2003 and the photos dated 2010. His name was included at the Read Cemetery by Ed Benningfield as early as 1982. (http://www.interment.net/data/us/ky/larue/read family.htm)

His wife, Belinda, is buried here also. There should be no question as to his burial location.

Sometime after 2010 his stone was removed from the Read Cemetery and placed on the ground in Red Hill Cemetery at the headstone for his son John W. Twyman and wife Elen B., Munford Twyman, FAG memorial No. 12105682 & 121056754, It remained there until after April 2021. Photographs at those memorials show the missing stone next to Ellen"s stone. See the photo posted by Russell Perkins on 2 April 2021.

I contacted the Hodgenville City Council to find someone with authority to move the stone back to its proper location. The city passed the request to Mr. Tim Robertson (who takes care of Red Hill Cem) He could not find the stone in question. The city took no further action. I have since confirmed from another source the stone is indeed now missing.

Thomas B. Twyman was the 3rd gr grandfather of Millie Pickett. John W. and Ellen Munford Twyman were her 2nd gr grandparents. Miss Pickett had asked for permission to move the stone to Red Hill. Permission was denied. The stone was discovered in Red Hill Cem after that. Inquires about that should be directed to her.
