Deadly Toy Pistol - Little Raymond, the 10-year-old son of J. C. Turnidge, died quite suddenly from lockjaw, or tetanus, at his father's house, near Spring street, May 23d, he was playing with a toy pistol, when the cap exploded, and the burning powder entered his left hand, producing a wound, which with the best of medical attention, did not heal. A month or six week ago, while playing with some companions on Oak street, his leg became entangles with a moving wagon wheel, and was broken in two places. The deceased's mother is living at Reno, Nevada. The funeral yesterday afternoon, from the Baptist church, was largely attended. Ashland Tidings. ref: The Capital Journal 2 Jun 1903 [excerpt]
