Born February 22, 1935 in Monmouth, Illinois, she was the daughter of Robert A. Hoffman and Sylvia Irene Ring Tuggle. On July 31, 1982 she married Daniel Newton in Avon, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 12, 2003.
Mrs. Newton was a Burlington High School graduate. She was a contact lens technician and receptionist at American Eyecare for over 20 years.
Mrs. Newton was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed socializing with her many friends and co-workers and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her four children, Thomas (Patty) Pratt II of Moline, Illinois, Patrick (Yang Soon) Pratt of Honolulu, Hawaii, Ann (Greg) Spears of Oswego, Illinois and Sara (Craig) Harter of Park Ridge, Illinois; two step children, Elizabeth Snipes and Matt Newton; 12 grandchildren; one great grandson; her mother, Sylvia Irene Tuggle of Moline; one sister, Janet (John) Warber of Yuma, Arizona and many beloved nieces and nephews and step nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; brother, Bobby in infancy; husband, Dan Newton; and her best friend, Barb Higgs and her son, Mark Kaltefleiter who were in the accident with her.
