Birth: May 2, 1845
Death: Jan. 11, 1910

Atlanta Constitution - 1/12/1910 - Rev. Milton B. Tuggle died at a private sanitarium yesterday afternoon. He lived at 17 Ashland Avenue. He is survived by his wife and five children, Mrs. Mary King, Mrs. Vining, Dave G. Vining, Mrs. Princey Mines and Paul L. Tuggle. The funeral will be at 2:30 pm from Barclay & Brandon's chapel, the Gate City lodge, No 2, Masons, being in charge. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Born in Oglethorpe County, Georgia. Apparently died in Newton County, Georgia. Milton was married to Susan Elizabeth Gatt and also to Anne Frances Dean. He married Ann on 1/9/1894 and they lived in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia. He and Susan were married 12/22/1868.

Milton served in Co C 3rd Georgia Regiment. He enlisted 5/16/1861 and was discharged as a minor near Petersburg, Birginia on 8/4/1862. He reenlisted in the same Company on 8/7/1864 and served until Lee surrendered at Appomatox on 4/9/1865. He stated in his application for a pension in 1900 that he was with his command when the war ended and had his gun in his possession.

He suffered from hearing loss in one ear and could not locate sound. He also worked as a marble salesman on commission for Butler Brothers of Marietta, Georgia and did some teaching and preaching.

He attended Mercer University and was married to Nancy Winifred Janes, who was the daughter of Absolom Janes and Cordelia Callaway. His wife died four years following their marriage.

Many thanks to Amir Dekel, a family member for additional information on Rev. Milton B. Tuggle and his family. His help is most appreciated.
Their appears to be an error in his marriages. The added information states that he was married to Nancy Winifred Janes, who died 4 yr after their marriage. This appears to be an error since she died at age 21 shortly after the death of her 2nd child and was married to Robert Ligon McWhorter. See Find a Grave Memorial #73536703 and other documents which are found on Ancestry.

(He was married to the other 2.
