William H. Tucker, age 85, of 1118 N. Morgan Street passed away this morning at the Richland Memorial Hospital.
A lifelong resident of the county, Mr. Tucker was born in Bonpas Township, the son of John W. Tucker and Martha Etta Perry Tucker. He was married to Mary Byrd in May of 1917. He and his wife operated the telephone exchange at Dundas for many years and had lived in retirement in Olney.
He leaves his wife, Mary and the following children: Charles Tucker of Claremont, Mrs. Lela Mae Buchanan of Breckenridge, Mich., Allen (Junior) Tucker of Mt. Vernon, Ind., Franklin Tucker of Los Angeles, Calif., Noble B. Tucker of St. Claire, Mich., Joe L. Tucker of Las Vegas, Nev., Marie Huffman of Dundee, Viola Crump of St. Francisville, Rosalie Beech of Olney and Donald Tucker of Wheeler, Mich. There are 38 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He also leaves two brothers and two sisters; Ray Tucker of Evansville, Ind., Donald Tucker of Vincennes, Ind., Mrs. Stella McVaigh of Olney and Mrs. Inez Nester of Evansville, Ind.
He has been preceded in death by three daughters, Mrs. Inez Wagner and two infant daughters and the following sisters; Mrs. Grace Holcomb, Della Morgan and a brother, Allen Tucker.
Funeral services in the Memorial Chapel of the Summers-Marshall Funeral Home with Bro. Lyle Berry officiating. Interment in Crest Haven Memorial Park.
