Peter served as a Technical Sergeant & Radio Operator on B-17G #43-38355, 863rd Bomber Squadron, 493rd Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.
He resided in Alameda County, California prior to the war.
He enlisted in the Army on April 1, 1943 in San Francisco, California. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being Single, without dependents.
Peter was "Killed In Action" when his B-17 was attacked by German aircraft and crashed in Ueplingen, west of Magdeburg, Germany during the war.
He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
He was originally interred in Holland and was later repatriated here on April 28, 1949.
