"Mrs. Myrtie Boyd Dies at Home at 79 Years of Age. Little Westkill - Mrs Myrtle Boyd, passed away at 3:30 Tuesday morning May 5th at her home on the Prattsville-Lexington road, following an illness which confined her to her bed for several weeks. She was faithfully cared for by her daughter, Mrs. Ruth Powell who shared their home together. Mrs. Boyd was the eldest of five daughters born to the late Reuben and Mary (Barnum) Truesdell. She was born and reared in Little Westkill. Mrs Boyd was twice married. In 1895 she was united in marriage with John Delamarter by Rev William H Vaughn at a home wedding and went to live in East Meredith where her husband owned a farm. One daughter was born of this union. In 1904 Mr Delamarter died and she disposed of their property and she and her daughter came to make their home with her parents for a time. October 8, 1906, Mrs Delamarter married William J Boyd and a few years later they purchased the small farm and boarding house of the late Willis Chatfield. In later years Mrs Boyd's son-in-law and daughter Mr and Mrs Charles Powell moved on the farm with them. For many years they catered to city guests. On September 23, 1945, Mrs Boyd's last husband died and her son-in-law, Charles Powell's death followed on Thanksgiving Day, 1951. (Stamford Mirror Recorder)
