...A. G. Trommald, the nominee for assessor is peculiarly well qualified for that important position, having been so long employed in the various county offices that he is thoroughly familiar with every piece of property and its value in the city. He has made a set of abstract books for the county, to do which required accurate knowledge of all property. It is most important to the tax payers regardless of party that he should be elected. (Brainerd Dispatch, 12 October 1894, p. 1, c. 4)

The Citizens State Bank was an outgrowth of the Northern Pacific Bank, organized in 1889 with C. N. Parker president. When, in 1906, M. T. Dunn purchased the controlling interest, the name was changed to Citizens State Bank of Brainerd.
After the death of M. T. Dunn in 1915, the vice president, A. G. Trommald, a man well known to all, was elected president. In November, 1920, he purchased the Dunn holdings and associated with him Mons Mahlum, president of the Mahlum Lumber Company, Edgar P. Slipp, president of the Brainerd Hardware Company, Theodore H. Schaefer, proprietor of the Model Meat Market, M. E. Ryan, of the law firm of M. E. & C. A. Ryan, and R. J. Tinkelpaugh, cashier. (Brainerd's Half Century, Ingolf Dillan, General Printing Company, Minneapolis, Minnesota: 1923; p. 103)

      A. G. Trommald, register of deeds, has received a cocoanut in its orignal husks from "Hank" Spalding, enjoying the sea breezes at Fort Myers, Florida. These husks are pleasant affairs which take a day or more to peel off when dry. The milk within gives a grateful gurgle when shaken. (Brainerd Daily Dispatch, 06 February 1917, p. 2, c. 3)
