Daughter of Ole Knudsen Trommald and Mari Kittilsdatter Herbrandsbraten. Married Ole Endresen Wold on June 28, 1812 in Flå, Hallingdal, Buskerud, Norway. Ole died in Norway, and Åsa emigrated to America in 1854 to join her children.

The descendants of Åsa's brother Erik still live on the family farm (Trommald) in Hallingdal, Buskerud, Norway today.

Inscription on the stone is hard to read, but assumed to be:
Nu har jeg overvundet
Og stridt den gode strid
I Jesu har jeg fundet
Min Fader mild og Blid.

(Now I have triumphed and fought the good fight
In Jesus I have found my Father mild and gentle.)
