Roy Samuel Trent, 82, of Wadsworth, died Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, at Akron General Medical Center.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with the Rev. Charles Whitlock officiating. Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

He was born Nov. 13, 1921, in Rittman to Melvin Roy and Daisy May (Welch) Trent and married Minnie Newcomb. She died previously. He later married Doris Rittenhouse. She survives.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942-1945.

He had been a carpenter and in construction and retired as project manager from Liberty Builders.

He was a member of Ridgewood Baptist Church in Wadsworth, Scottsdale Masonic Lodge 43 and Carpenters Union 639.

He had made his home in Arizona for nearly 30 years, moving to Wadsworth six years ago.

Surviving in addition to his wife are sons, Edward of Seville and Mark of Mesa, Ariz.; daughters, Joanna of Las Vegas, Kay of Phoenix and Susan of England; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Dale of Rittman and sisters, Doris Kennedy of Wooster and Rose Marie Ball of Powhattan.

A daughter, Ella May, a brother, Larry, and sisters, Myrtle Luedemann, Mary Lou and Roberta Ann, died previously.
