She was the daughter of the late John W. Totten and Evelyn R. (Drake) Totten. As a young girl, Dolly worked for her grandfather at Totten's Market in Hightstown, NJ. In 1959 Dolly moved to Florida, where she met and married Mackey MacDonald. Dolly and Mackey returned in 1988 to Jamesburg, NJ, where she worked in her son's multiple businesses. Upon retirement, Dolly moved to Jackson, NJ, in 2005; sadly, Mackey passed away in 2007. Family was very important to Dolly and she always said her family was "the light of her life."
